Is FreePDF really free?
Yes. All tools are free, with no sign-up, no daily limits and no watermarks. We are funded by a short ad shown while your file is processed.
Why is the ad sometimes longer?
Its length depends on the size and complexity of the job: merging two small PDFs shows a 5-second ad, while running OCR on a 100-page document may show a 30-second one. Your file is processed at the same time, so you never wait twice.
Is it safe? Who sees my documents?
Nobody. Files are processed on your own device with WebAssembly and Web Workers. They are never uploaded, so not even we can see them.
Does it work on mobile and offline?
Yes. FreePDF works on Android, iPhone, tablets and computers. Once a tool has loaded it keeps working even if you lose your connection, and you can install it as an app.
What file size does it support?
We impose no limits. The practical limit is your device’s memory: on a normal computer you can process PDFs of hundreds of megabytes.
